There is a plethora of sights to see in Lake of the Ozarks. Depending on what you’re more inclined to enjoy, you’ll find something to do form the moment you step off your plane to the moment you wave goodbye. If you’re more of a history buff, you’ll just love the Camden County Museum. The museum itself was formally the Linn Creek School. Each classroom, therefore, is dedicated to a particular theme pertaining to the rich history of the Lake. You should also take the time to visit Orion Science Center and Dino Space Adventure. More than just a placed for kids to get a history lesson, it’s a wonderful place for anyone who enjoys the learning about the intricate history of the world.
If you’re more of an adventurer, then you should definitely do a bit of exploring. There are a number of public access caves in the Lake of the Ozarks. Bridal Cave and Thunder Mountain Park is a wonderful place for those who like to do their own bit of excavation. Discovered by the Osage Indians, the cave itself is under what’s known as Thunder Mountain. You’ll be able to see firsthand the intricate natural wonder of the Lake --stalactites, stalagmites, and the infamous Mystery Lake. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, you should take in some horseback riding or parasailing. Hayburner Ranch is an incredible trail with group programs and guided tours of the area for those who want to learn more about how to communicate with horses.
There are, of course, quite a few water parks --after all, why be on the lake if you’re not going to take advantage of the water? Big Surf Water Park is just perfect for families who want to get wet and wild in the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. You’ll be able to experience the Raging Rapids, the Space Bowl, and the Lazy River all in your swimsuit. You can also enjoy the indoor water park, Timber Falls. It’s perfect if you want to swim all year round.
